Christy’s passion for real estate began when she and her husband purchased their condominium at 68th and Broadway in New York City. Unfortunately, due to a corporate relocation, they were never able to enjoy its nearby attractions and views up Broadway and Columbus. After returning to the Bay Area in 1999, Christy and her husband, a Los Altos native, decided to settle down in Los Altos. “We were drawn to Los Altos for its outstanding schools, friendly community, quaint downtown, and nearby open space.”

Menlo Park

Menlo Park is a beautiful tree lined community in San Mateo County, just moments from high-tech Silicon Valley and fashionable big-city, San Francisco. The classy, yet playful, suburban atmosphere combined with a wonderful climate make Menlo Park a desirable destination most any time of year.

Fine restaurants, great shopping destinations and a selection of top-tier bars and restaurants keep both residents and visitors entertained. Menlo Park is also a proud Tree City USA community, actively supporting “green” ideals and promoting community-wide care and maintenance of the city’s trees. Menlo Park further supports eco-friendly ideals by being conscious of environmental impact and being concerned with sustainable practices. There are even restaurants in Menlo Park where residents and visitors can enjoy locally grown organic greens and meats produced at environmentally friendly and animal friendly farms.

The Caltrain system that runs through Menlo Park is also ideal for reducing the smog incurred by the carloads of people commuting to San Jose or San Francisco. The Menlo Park Caltrain station is a short distance from the downtown area and offers limited stop and baby-bullet service.

Menlo Park spans across four different elementary school districts; Las Lomitas ESD, Menlo Park ESD, Ravenswood ESD, and Redwood City ESD.  Schools are extremely important for buyers making decisions about where to live in the city.  The Menlo Park and Las Lomitas Schools are seen as excellent schools and homes within these boundaries command a premium price.  The Ravenswood and Redwood City schools are not as highly rated, and homes in these areas generally sell at a discount compared to nearby neighborhoods.  The entire city is served by the Sequoia Union High School District.

Menlo Park's primary zip code is 94025.  The town includes single family home, condominium, and townhome properties, but the areas in the Ravenswood and Redwood City school districts are primarily single family home neighborhoods. Homes within the Menlo Park and Las Lomitas School Boundaries generally coincide with MLS Areas 300-309. Homes within the Ravenswood District fall within MLS Area 310, and homes within the Redwood City District fall within MLS Area 311. Below is the historical market data for the city.
